FIELD GUIDE01 / 10

Your first match

Realms Under Siege is a team game. You fight, dig, and build in a shared world.

This guide describes PRE-ALPHA 0.1.0. Rules and prices can change. Read messages in the game when an action fails.

Win the round

Each team has a Ship Core. Protect your core. Destroy the enemy core to win the round.

The result appears when a core is destroyed. Standalone matches start the next round automatically. Sector operations open the next sector selection. The map and round resources reset.

The round recap shows a short timelapse of terrain that your client knew. It does not reveal the full hidden map. Press Escape to skip it.

Start with these steps

  1. Install the current build and join a server.
  2. Choose an available class. Engineers build, Vanguards hold ground, and Channelers cast. Pathfinder, Field Medic, and Sapper equipment is still being integrated; check your current build.
  3. Find your Ship Core and team stations.
  4. Open Inventory to check your resources and equipment.
  5. Use Team chat to agree on a plan.
  6. Stay near cover while you learn the controls.

Win a sector operation

Some servers connect three battlefields: Salvage Yard, Relay Cut, and Floodworks. The server list shows the current phase and sector ownership.

  1. Join a team. Selection waits until both teams have a connected player.
  2. Choose the first sector during the 20-second vote. You can replace your vote. Your vote appears when the game confirms it.
  3. Destroy the enemy Ship Core to take that sector.
  4. The winning team chooses the next neutral or enemy-held sector.
  5. Hold two sectors to win the operation.

Ties and empty votes choose the first eligible sector in alphabetical order. Losing a sector to a recapture can extend the operation. A draw awards no sector and retries that battlefield.

Your team stays the same through the operation and a reconnect. If either team has no connected players, selection and battle gameplay pause. Settings and text chat remain available. Release held controls and press them again when play resumes.

The automatic recap names the operation winner. A new operation begins with three neutral sectors. Sector control lasts for that operation; it also clears when its host restarts. Resources, equipment, terrain and team upgrades reset between battles. Your recorded match statistics are separate from sector control.

Work with your team

  • Engineers make paths and repair damaged structures.
  • Vanguards protect Engineers and hold contested ground.
  • Channelers attack from a distance and use mana for spells.
  • Pathfinders open routes, Field Medics sustain teammates, and Sappers breach or disarm defenses.
  • Any class can collect from friendly miners and carry resources.
  • Share spare materials at the Relay.

You can pass through allies. Enemies block your movement. You respawn after death while the round is active.

Read the world

Solid foreground blocks can hide terrain and players. A dark area is not proof that it is empty. Terrain that you saw before can remain as memory. Hidden changes can appear when you see that area again.

Water can flow into tunnels. Falling structures can hurt players. Leave an exit before you remove a support.

What this version includes

The active game client is the Rust desktop app. The 0.1.0 candidate brings together two teams, six-class systems, fine-grid construction and digging, ladders, water, resources, food plants, stations, vehicles, wildlife, text chat, and voice. Some player-visible class loadouts and combined match behavior still require final native playtest acceptance.

Harvest ripe plants and eat carried food to recover health. See terrain and construction for the full workflow. Platforms, a persistent campaign, and a clan war map are not part of this version.

Browser, iOS, and Android clients are paused. See current limits and help.
