Install and join
Use the desktop build that your test organizer supplies. Use the build made for your operating system and processor.
There is no public download link on this wiki yet. Ask your organizer for the current package and access code.
Install the test build
- Get the current package from your organizer.
- Follow the installation steps included with that package.
- Open Realms Under Siege.
- Check that the title screen shows the expected version.
Apple Silicon Mac and Linux are active desktop targets. Windows runtime checks are incomplete. Intel Mac packages are outside the current target set. Do not assume that a package works on another processor or operating system.
If the operating system blocks the package, keep the exact message. Ask the organizer for the correct package. Do not disable system security to open an unknown file.
Join a match
- Select Find a server.
- Select Refresh if the server list is empty or old.
- Select the server that your organizer named.
- Enter your player name and access code.
- Choose an available class. Engineer, Vanguard, and Channeler are the core roles.
- Select Join match.
- Wait for the connection to finish before you move.
Pathfinder, Field Medic, and Sapper are still being integrated. Their availability depends on your test build; check the join screen and the class notes.
Use 3–24 letters, numbers, underscores, or hyphens for your player name. Spaces are not allowed. Your code keeps the player name used on its first successful registration. Keep the code private. The desktop app does not save it as a local preference.
Use Server address only when your organizer gives you a specific address. Keep their address unchanged.
If you cannot join
Read the connection message. Check the selected server, build version, and code. An empty server list and a rejected code are different problems.
Do not post your access code in chat or a bug report. If a code is rejected, ask the organizer to check it privately.
Leave a match
Press Escape to open the match menu. Resume returns to the match. Leave match ends your connection.
The match continues while a menu or settings panel is open. Use a safe place before you open a panel.
